What is MenslineMensline is a free and confidential telephone counselling service specifically for men and staffed by male only counsellors. It’s a national service and because it is part of the Lifeline family of services, you will receive the same level of professionalism and confidentiality no matter what part of the country you call from. |
Why would I call Mensline?Sometimes life can be tough …. you might feel stuck in a rut or that your problems are overwhelming….. family break-ups, work problems, health issues, loneliness, custody issues, depression, anger, violence, grief…….you could be at the end of your tether or feel that life has lost it’s sparkle – it’s just not working out anymore……….there has to be a better way ….. A call to Mensline can be life changing – we understand what you are going through……whatever your problems we won’t judge you or tell you what to do, but we will be here to listen to what you have to say and help and support you in finding solutions. The hardest step is the first one – picking up the phone and speaking to a counsellor takes guts, we understand…….we are here to support you and help you through. |

If I call Mensline who will I speak to? Is it safe to talk?You will speak to a male counsellor who will understand where you are coming from and who can help you identify what’s really going on for you – he can support you in finding different options to help you deal with your problems. It is totally safe to talk about anything that is troubling you, our counsellors are experienced in dealing with all kinds of issues - so they will understand yours. We take our commitment to your confidentiality and anonymity very seriously so that you can feel confident about talking to us about anything. |
Where to from here?….One call to a Mensline counsellor might be all you need……or you might want to say some more at a later date….if this is the case you can talk to your Mensline counsellor about our “Call Again” option where you can agree a time when you will call him again to talk some more. Alternatively, your counsellor can offer to call you back at an agreed time to check how things are going for you….. The first step is to make the call – (Note: if all our counsellors are busy with other calls (or are otherwise unavailable) you will have the option of being put through to a Lifeline 24/7 counsellor.) |
